March 2022 Stats and April 2022 Goals

Writer's picture: Little Literary MomentsLittle Literary Moments

Greetings, bookish friends! Has another month already passed? I feel like I’m simultaneously still living in March 2020 and living far into the future. How about you?

Today’s reading month has been pretty good. Not exactly spectacular, but I’ve had a challenging month at work, and sometimes that bleeds into my reading time. Fortunately, this month, I’ve managed to avoid a reading slump. So, here are my stats for the month!

Books Read: 5*

Favorite Book of the Month: All Men Want to Know by Nina Bouraoui (the April 2021 pick from Queer Book Box - not sponsored, but a gal can dream haha)

DNF’d (for now): 2

*Technically as of this writing, I’ve only read 4 books, but the fifth is almost done and also my favorite of the month, so I’m giving myself credit for it.

And how about those April goals?

So, this year, just like last year, it’s my goal to read as many of the Women’s Prize nominees before the winner is announced. I’m already loving Great Circle by Maggie Shipstead, and I have a few others lined up, thanks to the ebooks/audiobooks offered by my library. I’m also adding the presumed winner of my Instagram poll (since it’s currently not even close), for this month’s Followers Pick My TBR choice. Finally, I have a few book club books I’m hoping to get into. Here’s the list!

  • Build Your House Around My Body by Violet Kupersmith

  • The Book of Form and Emptiness by Ruth Ozeki

  • The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak (this is a Women’s Prize nominee, but also Elif Shafak is one of my favorite authors and I will read anything - ANYTHING - she writes)

  • Somebody’s Daughter by Ashley C. Ford (the presumptive winner of my Instagram poll)

  • Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner (I’ve already started this - it’s a book for my in-person bookclub - and as of this post, I have one week to finish it)

  • Play it As It Lays by Joan Didion (I started this a while ago and put it down - now it’s the choice for the Sad Twenty-Something Book Club book of the month, so I have a reason to pick it up again)

What were your favorite reads of March? And your most anticipated reads of April? Share below!
